As we celebrate our 100th anniversary in 2012, the Better
Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota commences on a
motivated 18-month initiative (October 2011-December 2012) to:
- Educate consumers, businesses, and media about marketplace
trends and issues to create a marketplace where buyers and sellers
can trust each other.
- Connect and engage local business and community thought leaders
to champion business ethics and build marketplace trust.
- Encourage consumers to do business with trustworthy companies,
such as our BBB Accredited Businesses.
Don't miss the BBB's annual signature business community
event that recognizes the top Minnesota and North Dakota companies
for their ethical business leadership and outstanding commitment to
customer service. We will celebrate 100 years of marketplace trust
and showcase all BBB Centennial Sponsors, Century Club members, and
long-standing Accredited Businesses for their commitment to
building marketplace trust now and for the next 100 years.

2011 Integrity Awards
The Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota
presents the Integrity Award each year to companies who display
outstanding ethics and integrity toward their employees, vendors
and customers, as well as their community. The Integrity Award is
open to all for-profit businesses located within the Minnesota and
North Dakota region.

Decoding Truth and
Trust in Advertising
The BBB has partnered with Twin Cities Public Television (TPT) to produce
a 30-minute historical production about the BBB movement's
Minnesota origins, mission, and the fight for the truth in
advertising movement - led by progressive business owners in our
region. This educational video will be made available for consumer
education, and air on TPT in January (and at least 4 times during
the year on PBS's Minnesota Channel -- see a schedule of upcoming episodes).

Minneapolis Home and
The BBB is proud to be a sponsor of the Minneapolis Home and
Garden Show - helping consumers make wise and informed purchasing
decisions for their homes! To highlight the BBB's Centennial year,
all Accredited Businesses exhibiting at the show can receive
special VIP passes and display the BBB logo and link on their
interactive listing. The BBB will host several presentations on the
Lifestyles Stage and be featured in the event program.
During National Consumer Protection Week (March 4-11) and the
entire month, the BBB is partnering with several media partners
around Minnesota and North Dakota to raise awareness about scams
and fraud in our marketplace. Media outlets will be hosted several
"call in" events and interviews to help educate families and
Student Video Contest

Strong business ethics and practices boost and support a
healthy market now and into the future. It is critical that younger
consumers' voices are heard. High school and college students will
be able to submit 2-3 minute videos as they share their thoughts
and ideas about what business ethics really means to them and what
our world would be like with or without them. The videos will be
shared and voted on publicly, as well as judged by area businesses
and ethics professionals. Winners will be announced as part of the
Ethics Summit, April 17, 2012, at the University of St.

This special event will bring together area business leaders,
ethics officers, professors, and students in a one-of-a-kind summit
at the University of St. Thomas to raise awareness and
dialogue about the need and importance of business ethics in
today's global economy. Discussion will include current business
ethics challenges, perspectives, and solutions to promote a healthy

Join us on Tuesday, May 22, for our BBB Networking Open
House! You and your employees are invited to spend a few hours
networking with other businesses and community members, explore our
new building and learn more about BBB programs and services. Food,

BBB Day at BizTown
June 4, 2012
On June 4, "BBB Day at BizTown," the Better Business Bureau
needs 10-12 volunteers from Accredited Businesses to help guide 6th
grade students from Sandford Middle School with their BizTown
experience. In partnership with Junior Acheivement, we've also
added a BBB office to the town and integrated the Accreditation
process into the students' learning experience.
Lighting the Way Governor's
July 18, 2012
Celebrate the long tradition of Minnesota companies and
legislators who have been "Lighting the Way" and modeling ethical
business practices and corporate responsibility with a special
reception at the Governor's Residence which is also celebrating
their 100th year.

Join us for "Good Eggs & Scams," an evening of fun, baseball
-- and hyjinx! Before and during the game (against the
Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks), fans will "catch up" on ways they can
avoid fraud. There will be a 5:30 p.m. pregame networking event for
Accredited Businesses. Ticket packages include game ticket, voucher
good for hot dog, soda, Saints baseball cap, and $2 in Saints Bucks
to be redeemed during the pregame or game.

The BBB will be hosting Centennial luncheons in Fargo (June
27) and St. Cloud (September 27). Each luncheon is open to the
business community and will recognize local businesses that have
achieved 100 years or more in their respective communities. The BBB
also will recognize Accredited Businesses with continued
accreditation for 25 or more years. We will enjoy lunch and keynote
presentation celebrating stability, longevity and the common
factors that help companies reach such a notable milestone.
Student of Integrity
Deadline: Friday, September 21, 2012 by 4:00 pm
The BBB is proud to offer an annual scholarship program
recognizing Students of Integrity. These scholarships are designed
to recognize and promote ethics and integrity among young people.
The BBB will award scholarships to graduating high school seniors
who personify all of the best aspects of high character in their
personal choices and actions. Scholarship money is awarded directly
toward winners' post-secondary education expenses (tuition or
room/board only) at any accredited institution. .
